Monte da Azarujinha is a rural tourism estate, set on a 140 acres environmentally friendly property, which is made up of a one hundred year old agricultural house conversion and the construction of a new building consisting of five en suite bedrooms and a multi-purpose living room, a project designed by Aboim Inglez Architects (Ana Maria and Ricardo Aboim Inglez).Completed in December 2014, these conversion and construction works fulfilled a lifelong dream of the current owners Almerinda and Carlos Duarte.Recently the revival of the agricultural activity has also started with the reforestation of 30 acres of stone pine while a planning project is underway for the plantation of 30 acres of almond and walnut trees. “Our mission is to give you a life time experience of the peaceful Portuguese countryside in a cozy and natural environment.”

Monte da Azarujinha offers five comfortable and spacious en suite bedrooms, each exiting to a small porch on looking the vastness of the Alentejo plain. The old house has two comfortable living rooms with a huge floor fireplace, a dining room and a kitchen. The simple and harmonious decor provides a family home environment typical of the Alentejo houses. Our continental breakfast service has a strong emphasis on regional products, such as the excellent regional bread, honey, homemade jams, cheese and fruits.Traditional or light meals can also be served but require prior booking.
