THE HORTO - THE VINEYARD - THE ORCHARD
In the farm, the search for sustainability in the agricultural sector is to obtain from the land the best products that can be consumed in the farm in the scope of its tourist activity. To this end, in addition to the existing secular olive grove (where a specimen of a oleaster stands out over 10 meters high), we have cultivated an orchard, a small vineyard and a garden is being prepared, from which to obtain the base products for consumption on the farm.
THE LAVENDER GARDEN
In the lavender garden you can see the largest collection of lavenders in Portugal. Note that there are more than 100 varieties of lavender and that on our farm are planted more than 40. From plants from cold climates to tropical climates. In the garden the flowering begins in March with the stoechas of various colors (white, pink, red) and ends in July, with the Lavender angustifólias. In the garden you can see lavenders of the most diverse colors (white, pink, red, lilac, etc.) and of different shape. The garden is a treat for the eyes and an inebriation for the senses. Sit down to enjoy the plants and you will see the magical effect they have on you.
VISITS
Visits to Quinta das Lavandas and lavender fields take place on Tuesday and Thursday (other days can be considered by appointment) at 11:00 a.m., with an average duration of 1.5 hours.
During the visit visitors are offered a visit to the lavender fields, a brief explanation of lavender cultivation and distillery, as well as a visit to the Lavender Garden, where more than 40 varieties of the species are cultivated.
At the end of the visit visitors can walk freely around the farm and take pictures.
